What are the functions of vitamin E enzyme

1. γ-Tocopherol methyltransferase (γ-TMT): In the biosynthesis of vitamin E, γ-TMT is responsible for methylating γ-tocopherol (γ-tocopherol) into more biologically active α- Tocopherol (alpha-tocopherol).
2. Alpha-tocopherol transfer protein (α-TTP): α-TTP plays a key role in the transport of vitamin E in the body. It helps transfer α-tocopherol from the liver to other tissues, such as heart, muscle, etc.
3. Glutathione peroxidase (GPx): GPx plays an important role in the antioxidant cycle of vitamin E. It helps regenerate and maintain its antioxidant function by reducing oxidized vitamin E.
4. Cytochrome P450 enzyme: In the liver, the cytochrome P450 enzyme system is involved in the metabolic process of vitamin E, including its hydroxylation and subsequent conjugation reaction.
5. Microsomal enzymes: In intestinal cells, microsomal enzymes are involved in converting ingested vitamin E into a form that can be transported and utilized in the body.
6. Lipoprotein lipase (LPL): LPL is involved in the hydrolysis of triglycerides in lipoproteins, which may affect the absorption and metabolism of vitamin E.
7. Sterol carrier protein 2 (SCP-2): SCP-2 may be involved in the transport and metabolism of vitamin E in the liver.
8. Phospholipid transfer protein (PLTP): PLTP may be involved in the transport of vitamin E in high-density lipoprotein (HDL).
